The nine-year-old girl who gave birth in Mexico was sterilised – without her mother’s consent – by doctors who delivered her baby, it has been claimed.
The youngster, named only as Dafne, gave birth to a daughter after falling pregnant when she was just eight.
The 5lb 15oz baby girl, named by a local newspaper as Maria de Los Angeles, was born on January 27 at Zoquipan Hospital, in Jalisco state.
But the infant’s grandmother now claims her nine-year-old daughter was sterilised by doctors at the hospital following the shock delivery.
She is believed to have reported the hospital, in Guadalajara, to the local Jalisco Human Rights Commission, according to MailOnline.
But she is only thought to have done so after the hospital informed local prosecutors about the birth.

Authorities in Mexico are now trying to trace the baby’s father – Dafne’s 17-year-old boyfriend- who has fled.
Jorge Villasenor, of the state prosecutor’s office, said: “We are looking for the young man to get his story because the girl does not understand what has happened.
"This is either rape or child sex abuse.”
But according to Mexican media, who have dubbed the girl 'baby mother', DNA tests are being carried out on all of the youngster’s male relatives amid claims her stepfather may have abused her.
El Occidental newspaper reported that Dafne could have been raped multiple times amid fears her stepfather abused her and his own biological daughter.
The family fled their home, in the poor suburb of Colonial Los Olivos, following the birth as media interest in the case soared.
The youngest ever mother was a five-and-half-year-old from Peru who gave birth by cesarean to a 5lb boy named Gerardo in Lima in 1939.
Her parents had taken her for an examination after assuming the bump in her tummy was a tumour.
Britain’s youngest mum is Amy Crowhurst, of Crawley, West Sussex, who got pregnant aged 12 and had a son, Alfie, at 13 in 2002.
